Stores Ref. 22C/13. One of the classic 'Battle of Britain' pattern goggles. The frame retains some of the original paint finish but is a bit rubbed and has verdigris deposits. All but one of the original frame screws remain in place but one hinge stop is missing. The leather surrounds are generally quite good and retain some suppleness - as usual there is hardening of the internal padding and variable patination to the leather but there is no notable damage or repairs. The lenses have a very pale blue tint and show slight warping and some marking/scratching. The strap springs are all complete, undamaged and in excellent condition. The leather strap section is also good with clear RCAF stamp and 1940 date. This pair belonged to a Wellington radio operator named Andison. Unfortunately we have no further information on his service career. Good used overall. Stock code G19611.
