RAF Irvin Flying Jacket

Thermally Insulated Flying Suit, Jacket.  Physically measures approximately 42” so should be suitable for around a 38” chest. This example is of four-panel front and rear construction (plus 2 extra tiny pieces to lower rear panels).  The leather is a little dry but in very good overall condition retaining much of the original chromed finish and flexibility.  There is fairly minor abrasion on the arms and general creasing plus a small stiched repair on the back of the left arm (see photograph no. 10).  The jacket seems to be strong and the binding seams appear good and tight.  The finish could be improved further with some leather dressing. Very good dense fur lining with most still remaining at the waist and cuffs.  The jacket retains original 'D-o-T' zips at the cuffs and the main zip has been replaced using a period original 'D-o-T.'. The belt is complete and in good condition. This example has a leather hanger and collar strap / rings.  Overall, a good + / very good used.   Stock code J21370.
