RAF 1941 Pattern Mae West

SOLD

Code: MW18048

'Life-saving Waistcoat, Stole Inflated'.  Stores ref. 22c/447. Size medium. The cloth is in excellent overall condition, generally very clean and with good strong colour.  The Mae West retains three of the four leg straps, both grab handles, original buttons, inflation lever flap, fluorescene flap/strap, skull cap/heliograph pocket and flotation lamp pocket - this has some verdigris deposits on the fastening stud but still functions.  The upper tying tapes are present but one of the lower pair is missing and a few stiches are missing from the bottom of the lobe on that side (see photograph no.13). This example also has two dinghy lanyard connector sockets attached.  Although Cadmium plated, one does have some corrosion. Good original brass zip.  Labelled with Air Ministry King's crown mark and reference number.  A good '+' / very good  used example.  Stock code MW18048.
