RAF 1941 Pattern Mae West

'Life-saving Waistcoat, Stole Inflated'. Stores ref. 22c/447. Size medium. The cloth is in excellent overall condition, generally very clean and with good strong colour. The Mae West retains both grab handles, all of the tying tapes, buttons, inflation lever flap and skull cap/heliograph pocket. The other components have been carefully removed - these include the flotation lamp pocket, fluorescene flap and strap and leg straps. Good original 'Lightning' marked zip. Labelled as a 'Flap' type but was not manufactured with the flap so will have been produced when those labels were still being used up. Also has Air Ministry ink stamps and contract details.
