USAAF AN6513 Chest Parachute Pack

Parachute Assembly, Quick Attachable Chest, Type AN-6513. Manufactured by The Eagle Parachute Corp. Dated November 1942. Group 1 'Red' pack for the quick attachable chest type parachute harness. Olive drab cotton duck material with a single heavy webbing grab handle. Red painted patch on the ripcord flap indicating that this is a Group 1 pack complete with cadmium plated snap hooks for attaching to loops on the harness. Also fitted with correct ripcord handle/ripcord and some rather worn bungees. Marked with serial number, clear manufacture date etc. The pack itself is empty (stuffed for photographing only). It still has the parachute log book (AAF Form 46) marked with correct/matched serial number and entry/inspection for late 1944. The pack has some fading, soiling and wear and has a small tear on one corner (see photograph No. 10). The AN6513 is characterised by the unusual square shaped pack and is considerably rarer to find than most other types. Good used condition overall. Stock code S21137.
