RAF C-type Flying Helmet, 1st Late pattern

SOLD

Code: H21016

Stores Ref. 22c/878/9. Size 2 or 3.  The leather is in very good clean and supple condition. Indistinctly embossed WD arrow markings. All straps are equally good and retain virtually all of the original coatings on the press studs. The lining has less than average soiling with most on the donuts and nape of the neck as usual.  The rubber receiver carriers look quite good but have lost some flexibility and the left one has a small glued split (see photograph numbers 7 & 8). The chinstrap is soiled but has good colour and some elasticity. Fully wired with a light tan coloured loom, matched 10A/13466 receivers and black cased bell jackplug.  The microphone plug has not been sewn in and the loom exits the helmet without binding suggesting that it has been added at some stage.  We can sew the plug in for the buyer if required. This is the early internally wired pattern of C-type of definite wartime manufacture. Overall this is a very good used helmet. Stock code H21016.
