By Spode (owned by the Copeland family). Large white ceramic water jug approximately 30cm tall x 22cm x 20cm. Lovely clear King's crown R.A.F. winged crest in gilt to one side, approx. 7cm/3" span. Gilt rings around the base, middle, rim and around the handle. Overall condition is very good '+'. There is no cracking, crazing or chips and the glaze remains very good. The only slight downside is wear to the gilding around the rim and upper section of the handle. This is the earlier pattern - later examples having a simple 'R.A.F.' crest in place of the wings. Probably dates from the 1920s or early 1930s. The jug would have been used in conjunction with a large ceramic washing bowl. Spode/Copland marks to base. Rather heavy at around 2.kg without packaging. We will post this item using a 24 hour service within the UK but would prefer collection. Overseas postage also possible but rather expensive.
