RAF officer rank beret

Stores reference 22F/997.  By Kangol, size 7 - 7^1/4.  1951 dated. Standard issue barathea beret with a King's crown badge.  Essentially the same as a wartime issue beret with leather bound opening.  This was worn by wartime Spitfire pilot Flight Lieutenant R F Littlewod DFM. A copy photograph of him will be included with the beret.  Shows wear and use but no moth holes and quite clean.  The greasecloth liner is discloloured as usual.  These early berets are surprsingly hard to find.  Stock code U21974.
