RAF 1936 pattern flying boots, S8

Stores reference 22c/80.  Size 8.  1939 contract date.  The leather is in good overall condition bar light scuffing and surface crazing.  There is a rather crudely repaired cut on the inner calf of the left boot that has been stitched and reinforced internally with a leather patch.  Good straps and buckles.  The original leather soles have been replaced at some point with excellent stitched rubber ones.  The heelplates have also been replaced.  The linings are a bit grubby and there is some loss of fur at the top edges and a few other relatively small areas.  Lacks original insoles.  The puller tags in both boots have clear Air Ministry King's Crown markings and 1939 date code with A.I.D marks on each of the other puller tags.  A good used pair of these rare early boots.  Excellent display item.  Stock code B18583.
