'Saga of the All American'. H/b, 24 x 31 x 3.5cm, 350+ pages, 1946 1st edition. Compiled and edited by W. Forrest Dawson. Published by Albert Love Enterprises. Heavily embossed covers. This is the 'official' unit history for the famous Eighty Second Airborne Division of the US Army who took part in many wartime battles including Operation Husky (Sicily), D-Day (dropped behind Utah beach between St. Mere-Eglise and Carentan on June 6th 1944), Operation Market Garden and the Battle of the Bulge. Copiously illustrated with photographs and drawings. It also has details of casualty numbers, awards, attached units etc. The corners of the covers are bumped and the pages are a bit yellowed otherwise in very good '+' condition. Reprinted in the 1970s and again in 2004 it is extremely rare to find original 1st edition copies. Stock code P12275.
