RAF type 19 microphone / wiring loom, part reproduction

SOLD

Code: H23260/1/2

An excellent original external wiring loom with mid tan coloured braiding wired to an equally good original early brown cased jackplug.  Wired to a reasonable reproduction of the much sought after type 18 (19 when 'mounted' as here) microphone used with the Type D oxygen mask during the Battle of Britain.  This has been made using an original type 20 microphone, the internal parts of which remain.  It is covered with chamois and has mocked up 'bakelite' mouldings and paxolin plate.  The chamois is very clean giving a 'new' look but this could easily be aged if required.  The loom is also 'wired' to an excellent pair of reproduction type 16 receivers (10A/12401.  When used with a B-type flying helmet and type D oxygen mask this makes an excellent display piece and costs literally £1000s less than an original microphone.  Stock code O23260/1/2.
