RAF 1st pattern internally wired C-type flying helmet - DFC history

SOLD

Code: H18348

Stores reference  22c/880.  Size 4.  The leather is in very good supple condition bar minor marks and a small tear at the base of the microphone plug slot (see photographs).  All straps are very good and retain virtually all of the original coatings on the press studs.  The lining has average soiling but is undamaged.  Both rubber receiver carriers are a little stiff but remain flexible enough to fit receivers.  The chinstrap has minor nicks but retains good colour and elasticity.  The helmet is unwired and without loom or receivers.  It originally belonged to Flight Liuetenant Frank R.
