Luftwaffe Observers B-Uhr wristwatch

FL-23883.  By Lacher & Co., Deutsche Uhren Rohwerke (LACO/Durowe).  Luftwaffe B-Uhr (Beobachtungsuhr) Observers Wristwatch, Type B dial c.1942.  High quality observation watch with 55mm diameter case in matt grey finished nickel plated brass.  Black dial with fully luminised Arabic numerals, chapter ring for minutes/seconds, inner 12-hour ring, hands and sweep second hand. Superb German manufacture high quality 22 jewel mecuric gilded anti-magnetic movement with balance stopping 'hacking' feature for accurate time setting prior to use.  

Engraved with correct 'Flieger' number (FL23883) on the left side of the case.  Press fit rear cover engraved 'H2111' and marked on the inside  with production details and serial number matching that engraved on the movement.  These watches were always belonged to the Luftwaffe, not the navigator airman and were  issued  before flight and later returned at the end of the sortie.  The watch was worn at the wrist over the flying suit and fitted with an oversized, long, double-riveted leather strap.  This is absent as is often the case.  High quality reproduction straps are available should the new owner wish to reinstate one.  

There is some wear and rubbing to the case but it remains in good order.  Excellent  dial and hands, superb clean movement in full working condition and keeping good time.  Highly desirable and increasingly rare.  A lovely timepiece.  Stock code C23893.
