WAAF socks - working pattern, 1944

Stores reference 22L/4325-439.  Socks, Blue-Grey, W.A.A.F.  Size 3/91/2.  Manufactured by N.C. & S.  'Warnorm' blue-grey woollen socks issued for use by the Womens Auxiliary Air Force.  1944 dated.  Here we have 2 'Working Pattern' socks complete with official paper and linen type labels and wax seal.  Working or sealed pattern items are the 'official' patterns used by the RAF.  These were sent out to manufacturers so that they could produce identical products and maintain both pattern and standards.  In excellent condition.  A rare find.
