RAF Mae West knife

Special knife issued to Spitfire pilot, Flight Lieutenant R.T. Littlewood DFM for use with his 'Flap Type' 1941 pattern Mae West.  It appears to be 'rigger made' with a fairly basic 2-piece wooden handle and pointed steel blade.  The handle is fitted with a press stud that connects it to a very well made webbing scabbard (with alloy insert).  The overall knife length is 15.5cm (blade 6.5, handle 9cm). We've never seen anything quite like this but it came with Littlewood's Mae West .  Shows use and wear but in good condition.  Stock code MW21983.
