RN / FAA C-type flying helmet

SOLD

Code: H24011

Not size marked but seems to be quite large so probably a '3' or possibly a '4'.  This helmet has a strap configuration which guarantees it to tbe of wartime manufacture. The leather is in reasonable condition.  There is some light overall scuffing and additional surface wear/loss of chroming and flaking around the oxygen mask and chin strap press studs.  In addiiton there is clumsily repaired damage  where the loom is routed through the helmet and into the earpieces.  The straps have surface wear but are quite good and all press studs retain the majority of their original brown coatings.  The chinstrap is faded, a bit ragged and about half of it has some elasticity remaining.  Zipped earpieces with fully functioning zips c/w leather puller tags.  It has its original rubber receiver carriers with fitting for Gosport communication tubes. The helmet lining has average soiling and is named to the owner.  Wired with a post WW2 NATO loom and plug but not fitted with receivers.  Shown with foam cushion inserts but these are not included in the sale. A rather tired example but the loom could be changed and the repairs improved.  Priced accordingly. Stock code H24011.
