RAF 'tropical' pilot wing

Padded pilot wing in off-white coloured thread.  Paper backing.  It has a safety pin fastener stitched to the rear.  This has been very carefully attached and the backing plate covered with felt to help avoid any abrasion damage to the uniform in use.   The pin allowed the wing to be removed from tropical uniforms to avoid damage from frequent laundering.  A superb wing showing no real wear at all.  Stock code U22535.
