RN / FAA C-type flying helmet, late pattern

SOLD

Code: H24010

No size indicated but appears to be large and is probably a '4'.  The leather is generally in very good supple condition.  There is some light scuffing on the earpieces and surface wear near the microphone plug and chinstrap retainer.  Good straps and all press studs retain the majority of their original brown coatings.  The chinstrap retains reasonably good elasticity and colour.  Zipped earpieces with fully functioning brass zips, both of which retain their leather pull tags.  The helmet lining is cleaner than the average helmet but does have stains and marking.  Oddly both chamois donuts are squashed and lack kapok padding.  This could no doubt be replaced with care but also means that the helmet is even more generous in size.  Wired with an excellent dark tan coloured loom, type 16 (10A/12401) receivers and black cased jackplug. The helmet is also fitted with the original rubber carriers c/w fittings for Gosport comminication tubes and rubber tube covers.  A good used example in the largest size.  Stock code H24010.
