RAF / SOE Parr escape and evasion lighter

By the Parr Manufacturing Co.  Approximately 5cm long x 2.5cm diameter.  This is an ingeniously designed lighter containing a hidden escape /evasion compass.  Manufactured in brass with a virtually undetectable inner brass sleeve concealing a standard 0.5" MI9 pattern compass.  The lighter was completely functional even with the compass in position. Some were made with a plain brass case but others had painted 'caps' like this example and various colours were used.  There is some light wear and scratching to the painted lid but otherwise in excellent unused condition and has never had fuel added.
