Caledonian Airways cap badge

Padded bullion wire cap badge on black felt with cotton backing. Approximately 9cm span.  Light moth damage but in very good overall condition.  Caledonian Airways was a wholly private, independent Scottish charter airline formed in April 1961. It merged with British United Airways to form British Caledonian in 1970 making these short lived badges scarce.  They came directly from a pilot with the airline who had flown Lancasters during WW2.  Stock code U19689.
