RAF 1940 pattern Sidcot flying suit

SOLD

Code: S24673

Suits, Flying, 1940 Pattern, Outer.  Stores reference 22c/365.  Size 6, (The label states Ht. 5'11" - 6'1", Br. 40 - 42", Wt. 36 - 38", St. 41 - 43", Leg 311/2" but the inside leg is closer to 29" - (beware if you intend wearing this).  Early WW2 version of the Sidcot without wiring.  The green cotton material is undamaged, strong and supple but a bit grubby, notably with an oily stain on the inside of the left leg.  Original zips throughout with a 'Tefas' main zip and Air Ministry marked zips elsewhere.  The main zip has a few teeth missing near the bottom but the slider will pass this section without issue. Both leg zip sliders function but have lost their puller tabs.   Both cuffs have been trimmed with 'fur', now somewhat worn. With cloth hanger, rear belt, cloth label and Air Ministry ink stamp.  The 1940 pattern Sidcot is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain as it was soon superseded by the 1941 pattern. Overall this is a good '+'/very good used example.   Stock code S24673.
