SOLD

Code: M25062

Manufactured by Norah Wellings who was a chief doll designer for Chad Valley prior to establishing her own company.  This R.A.F. mascot doll was created during the 1930s/early 1940s and stands approximately 22cm /8.5" tall.  It is modelled as an airman wearing service dress uniform including a jacket with flapped pockets, collar, buttons,  belt and field service cap.  The doll is soft-bodied with velvet hands and a hard stuffed/moulded fabric face with hand painted features and felt ears.  The uniform is made of velvet with a felt belt, pocket flaps and collar, metal buttons and felt field-service cap.  Black velvet boots/shoes with woven label  'Made in England by Norah Wellings".  Overall condition is very good.  No damage but there is some light soiling.  It might be possible to clean the doll with care.  These are highly sought after by doll and RAF collectors alike.  A charming 1930s/wartime memento.  Stock code M25062.
