RCAF / RAF 1932 pattern Mae West

SOLD

Code: MW24798

R.C.A.F. Stores reference 22c/22, R.A.F. Stores reference 22c/*55 (this is for the complete garment with kapok pads and stole, the actual reference for the 'outer' being 22c/240).  Manufactured by the Dominion Rubber Company Limited.  Size Large.  The material is in excellent overall condition retaining quite good colour with only minor soiling and stains.  Stencilled with 'user' instructions to the front lobes.  Complete with excellent original chromed 'DoT' zip, original buttons, and upper buckled strap.   The lower strap and buckle are replacements/reproduction.  This is an early pattern example that was never fitted with leg straps.  With faded RCAF / RAF label and stencilled unit marks to rear.  The internal rubberisation is shedding yellow dust as is often the case.  Padded out with some fairly crudely made  reproduction 'kapoks'. A good '+' used example.  These yellow Canadian variants are essentially the same as the ultra rare RAF green coloured 1932 pattern 'Battle of Britain' Mae West at a fraction of the cost.  Stock code MW24798.
