USAAF C-1 survival vest Spit Assembly, boxed

Manufactured by U.S. Lite-Ray Co. of Dayton Ohio.  Collapsible cadmium plated steel rod that could be used as a short weapon, a spit for cooking, or as a fishing spear.  For spearing fish, the length of the shaft extends in 5 sections to approximately 67cm and could be extended by lashing to a wooden pole.  Spits were placed in pocket No.3 of the C-1 sustenance vest.  Some tarnishing and the original card box is a bit worn.  Once quite easy to find, now rather scarce.   Stock code S25530.
