RAF external flying helmet loom with type 27 microphone

External flying helmet wiring loom.  Stores reference 10A/10353.  Type Q instrument cord (loom) is wired to a type 28 carbon microphone (type 27 when 'loose'), ready for fitting to a type E series or type G oxygen mask.  The type 28, stores reference 10A/12572, has a black painted dome-shaped metal casing with angled switch mounted at the top.  This example has lost virtually all the original paint but remains undamaged.  It retains the rubber gromit and metal cord anchor, the latter with some surface corrosion.  The mid tan coloured loom is generally in very good order but has been bound with cotton at the branching point where it is presumed to be fraying.  Fitted with an early brown cased type 119 bell jackplug, stores reference 10A/10991.  Stock code H25908.
