RAF Mk.VII flying goggles - modified

These unusual goggles appear to be modified from a pair of Mk.VIIs with the two sides of the frame being stitched to a unique leather facepiece. The normal MK.VII adjustable centre bridge piece has been removed completely and the suede backing incorporates a nosepiece from a pair of Mk.VII goggles. The lenses are from standard MK.VIIs but the strap is from a pair of VIIIs with modified attachment rings. Condition is reasonably good. The frames are chipped/rubbed but the facepiece is good. Both lenses have delamination marks and one is cracked. The strap is rather faded and stretched retaining only a little elasticity. Stock code G26129.
