RAF B-type flying helmet

SOLD

Code: H000NIV

By Frank Bryan Limited of London & Worcester.  Stores reference 22c/65.  Size 2 (67/8 - 7.  The overall appearance is very good to excellent.  The leather has a little surface cracking on the crown but is generally supple and undamaged.  Fitted with Air Ministry stamped zipped earpieces, one with a few broken stitches as shown.  Both earpieces have minor marks and wear but are in very good condition with original zips, one with an original leather puller tab.  Bakelite receiver carriers and RCAF rubber cushions are fitted within each earpiece.  Both rear straps and chinstrap are excellent, the latter complete with metal tip.  Both leather covered Bennett buckles are very good but the main buckle lacks the small metal loop that would secure the strap during use.  The chamois lining is undamaged and quite clean with relatively light soiling.  Complete with manufacturer's Air Ministry marked, 1939 dated label at the inner crown.  Sold unwired.  Wiring, receivers, microphones and jackplugs can be supplied at extra cost if required.  A very nice pre Battle of Britain dated helmet.  Stock code H000NIV.
