RAF Observer type parachute pack

By Irvin Air Chute (IAC). Stores Reference 15A/141. Two point quick connector chest pack that attaches to the Observer type harness by the engagement of a pair of steel loops with a pair of hooded snap-hooks located on the chest. This example is manufactured in the less commonly found/earlier chocolate coloured cotton (bar one panel in olive drab/sandy coloured plain weave duck canvas). It is complete with all the webbing grab handles, rip-cord flap and rip-cord handle housing. A printed cotton label has the details 'Parachute Observer' with King's crown Air Ministry marks, stores reference details, serial number and 'I.A.C.' mark (Irvin Air Chute). The pack is in excellent overall condition. There is a tiny hole on one side panel and another has been marked 'THIS 32' with some other erased marks beneath. It is fitted with the original/correct metalwork for attaching to the harness, a full set of bungee cords and ripcord/handle. The pack is empty but has been padded with material to give the appearance of containing a canopy. Extremely difficult to find. Stock code S25539.
