Code: P20566

Operators' Handbook for the Lancastrian Aircraft, AVRO Type '691'.  Published by A.V.Roe & Co. Ltd., Manchester, November 1945.  Card covers, 15 x 23cm.  Approximately 86 pages plus around 20 pullout diagrams/charts at the back.  This early post WW2 book covers numerous parts of the aircraft and the diagrams include those for the rigging instructions, hydraulic circuits, flying controls, fuel system, oil systems, oxygen system, jacking of the aircraft etc.  The manual was prepared for the use of operators handling civil aircraft and was not intended for use of members of the services.  It also notes that due to war conditions no amendments would be issued.  Each copy had an individual serial number, 1420 in this case.  The cover is a bit dog-eared at the edges.  The pages and diagrams are very good.  Named to Flying Officer F. W. Puttock, who flew as a WW2 Flight Engineer.  The handbook comes with a covering letter to Puttock from A.V.Roe dated May 1946.  Stock code P20566.
