USAAF E-17 emergency sustenance kit flask #2

USAAF / USN Kit, Emergency Sustenance, Type E-17.  Here we are offering one of the flasks found in the E-17 kit.  It is manufactured in semi transparent ethyl cellulose with a removable lid secured via a wire bail locking system.  A screw cap is incorporated into the lid.  This 2nd pattern flask is marked with a list of contents: Chocolate Rations; Chewing Gum; Bouillon Powder; Razor Blades; Leader kit; Fish Hook Kit; Fishing Line kit; Sewing kit; Compass; Saw Blade; Prophylactics; Sharpening Stone; Matches.  The flasks could be used as water containers once emptied.  Although somewhat grubby, it remains in good shape and the text is generally complete and legible.   Empty, no contents.  Stock code S18451B.
