USAAF A-10A flying helmet

Helmet, Summer Flying Type A-10A.  By The Bates Shoe Co.  Size small.  Rare late war variation of the A-10, standardised by the AAF for limited procurement in July 1944.  The following year slight modification lead to redesignation as the A-10A, a helmet that officially replaced the very similar AN-H-15 the following year.  Note here different chin and rear straps.  Fully wired with 'Y' loom, black PL-54 jackplug and matched Western Electric ANB-H-1 receivers.  Aside from very minor edge fraying on the forehead 'peak', in excellent condition throughout with nice label and AAF ink stamps.  Stock code H26101.
