RFC 'cap' type RAF MK.1 flying helmet

£375.00 Approx $472.89, €437.57

Code: H26497

By Adastra.  Tan coloured chromed leather helmet with blanket trimmed fold-back peak, press studded ear flaps for use with Gosport communication earpieces/tubes and cylindrical wind deflectors.  The crown is lined in a lighter softer blanket material, the lower section is darker/coarser.  This particular type of helmet was introduced around 1914 and later re-designated the 'Flying Helmet, MK.1, stores reference 22c/12'.
The leather is in excellent condition, beautifully supple but has some staining as seen.  It retains the original earflaps and wind deflectors along with the simple strap and leather covered single pronged buckle.  There is some moth damage to the trim on the peak.  The blanket lining is 'pilled' and lightly soiled but remains in very good condition.  With manufacturer's label in the crown.  Very good '+' overall condition and a super display piece.  Stock code H26497.
