RAF external wiring loom with type 20 microphone

SOLD

Code: H10548

External flying helmet wiring loom.  Stores reference 10A/10353.  Type Q loom wired to a type 20 microphone (type 21 when 'mounted' as here) ready for fitting to a type D oxygen mask.  The type 20, stores reference 10A/11994 has a black painted alloy casing and is often referred to as the '1941' pattern although it was actually introduced in October 1940.  It has minor paint loss to exposed edges, a small 'chip' in the edge and corrosion on the switchplate but is in good overall condition.  Air Ministry and King's Crown markings to the front face and the mic retains an original rubber band at the back of the casing.  Unusually, this appears to retain reasonably good flexibility.  The light tan coloured loom is very good bar staining and fraying of one of the terminals.  It is fitted with an early brown cased bell jackplug (corroded stress spring and hairline crack as shown).  All ready for your B-type helmet.  Stock code H10548.
