RAF C-type flying helmet, early pattern

Stores reference 22c/452.  Size 4 (7^1/2 - 7^3/4).  The leather is in excellent overall condition with only minor surface scuffing and marks.  Faintly embossed with A Crown M and reference codes.  This example has 3 press studs fitted, making it suitable for E series and G type oxygen masks.  All straps are good and the press studs retain virtually all of their original coatings.  Excellent Bennett buckle and chinstrap but the latter lacks a metal end tip.  The rubber receiver carriers are excellent and fully flexible.  The chamois lining is undamaged and has average, even soiling.  With Air Ministry label at the crown.  Sold unwired.  A lovely example in the largest size produced.  Stock code H17154.
