RAF air gunner's wind hood / facemark

Unlined pale green cotton mask/hood for use with a flying helmet and oxygen mask.  Almost certainly manufactured by Windak.  In use this was held to the early pattern C-type flying helmet using the front goggle straps and press studs to the rear.  Fitted with an Air Ministry stamped zip fastener to one side for a snug fit and has a hole at the front to allow an oxygen tube to pass through.  Light soiling, otherwise in excellent used condition.  Pictured in Mick Prodger`s Vintage Headgear book, p.205.  Intended for use by rear gunners in particular although these appear to have seen limited service use.  Stock code H14383.
